The LCCB Jazz Band is primarily an academic group that promotes and curates Jazz in the context of a large ensemble dynamic or “big band”.  The Jazz Band’s members recreate the sounds and styles of the many famous bands of the Big Band era. Our goal is to perform concerts as we perfect our tunes and look to promote a positive community footprint for LCCB, USCB, and OLLI by playing for community members who are less fortunate and don’t easily have access to big band jazz music.

 

The Lowcountry Jazz Band meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm prior to the regular rehearsal of the concert band. Mary Woodmansee Green is the conductor of the band.
